I fought South Shields at the May 2010 General Election for the Conservatives, gaining a 6.4% swing which was a 4% vote increase. The Conservatives polled 7,886 up from 5,207 in 2005. I was born in the North East and grew up in South Shields. I currently live in London and am employed as a Director at Lloyd's Broker Howden International.

Thank you to everyone at today's first Action Day

Great turnout at today's first Action Day. We had supporters travel from all over the country to provide support in South Shields but of course our trusted and ever staunch Association were the backbone of the day. We delivered several wards and spent time on King Street. It was a bit of a surprise to bump into Miliband, D who seemed to be paying the briefest visit to show his support before jumping back on the metro to Newcastle. Special thanks to all members of the South Shields Conservative Association, Charles Heslop, David Barnet, Callum Crozier and Wendy Morton. We still have lots of leaflets to get out, so if you have any time at all please let me know!
