I fought South Shields at the May 2010 General Election for the Conservatives, gaining a 6.4% swing which was a 4% vote increase. The Conservatives polled 7,886 up from 5,207 in 2005. I was born in the North East and grew up in South Shields. I currently live in London and am employed as a Director at Lloyd's Broker Howden International.

Conference 2010 - Birmingham

Conservative Conference is being held in Birmingham from 3 - 6 October this year. Our first conference in Government for 14 years it is set to be well attended. If you are going and you haven't booked a ticket for our Conservative Way Forward Dinner on Monday 4th October, with guest speak, Education Secretary, Michael Gove, I would urge you to do book soon if you want to attend. Maybe the constituency will see more of Mr M. now......but probably not....didn't see serving his voters better as being a reason for not standing!
