Miliband the biggest vote loser of Leadership Candidates
In May David Miliband lost 8.8% of his vote share (which represented a 6.4% swing to the Conservatives). This was the largest % of votes lost by any of the Labour Leadership candidates - even Ed Balls, who almost lost his seat.
CANDIDATE SEAT * LAB ‘05 * LAB ‘10
Diane Abbott Hackney N & Stoke Newington * 49.0% * 55.0%
Ed Miliband Doncaster North * 51.1% * 47.3%
Andy Burnham Leigh * 57.8% * 51.3%
Ed Balls Morley & Outwood * 46.0% * 37.6%
David Miliband South Shields * 60.8% * 52.0%
I wonder will this go against him? It'll be interesting to see what happens in September. My bet would be Miliband, D will be ahead on the first ballot, but will not make it out of the second victorious. I'd say we have got a Star Trek Convention to look forward to - but let's see....

In percentage term its significant, but i truely can`t see the conservatives ever winning in South Shields.
But then again who knows, people change, opinions change and as long as south shields is always being looked after, would we care?
