I fought South Shields at the May 2010 General Election for the Conservatives, gaining a 6.4% swing which was a 4% vote increase. The Conservatives polled 7,886 up from 5,207 in 2005. I was born in the North East and grew up in South Shields. I currently live in London and am employed as a Director at Lloyd's Broker Howden International.

Selected for South Shields!

with members of the South Shields Association

Last night I was both proud and extremely happy to be selected by South Shields Conservative Association as their candidate for the next General Election. The hard work starts now. It's imperative we reach out to voters in South Shields who have not previously voted Conservative. I want to show voters we are the only party who can get this country back on the right tracks.I see the main issues as transportation and of course unemployment. The recent withdrawal of a shipbuilding contract from the Tyne is a further blow to our rising unemployment. Labour has taken this region for granted for far too long, and by-elections elsewhere in the country have shown that voters aren’t standing for it any more. South Shields people need all the help and representation they can get during the recession.
