CF in Hammersmith

It was a record CF Campaign Day in Hammersmith on Saturday. We had 55 deliverers and got 27,000 leaflets out. We had people who had never been to a campaign day before and CFers who were seasoned campaigners.

All who attended would agree, I am sure it was an uplifting and very enjoyable day. Hammersmith will be a fundamental win at the next General Election and indicative on formation of the Government.

Hammersmith Campaign Day, Saturday 20th January

Hammersmith and Fulham was one of most stunning gains in 2005. Now the seat's boundaries have been changed, and at the next general election the area will have two MPs. The Fulham side of the constituency will be joined to parts of Chelsea, making it a strongly Conservative seat. But we want to hold on to Hammersmith, too - giving us two Tory MPs out of one.

How can you help?

Join us on Saturday 20 January from 10.30 am. We'll start with some coffee to help you shake off the previous night's excesses, meet sitting MP Greg Hands, then head north to leaflet as many homes as possible. We'll stop for a local pub lunch and still let you out before the evening.

Hammersmith is even better connected to most parts of London than Battersea.
Head for Shepherds Bush (Central Line), Shepherds Bush (Hammersmith & City
Line) or Goldhawk Road (Hammersmith & City Line). We'll meet at St. Simons Church Hall on Rockley Road (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=523661.

If you would like to come along please send me an email Matt Richardson at cf@matthewrichardson.com or ring him on 07838 150 180.

If you can only come for part of the day, please also send an email and we'll make separate arrangements for you to join us. Every hour counts towards us gaining another new Tory seat at the next general election.

Harlow Action Day in Staple Tye

Despite the weather in Harlow today, we still managed to get a CF team of ten out to campaign in target ward Staple Tye. The Target Seats work we are doing is so important and to many Associations the arrival of a team of young and energetic people does a lot for morale and it's been amazing how much delivering and canvassing can get done in one day. The whole of Staple Tye ward was delivered and 95% canvassed.

Thank you to James Dinsdale for his help and to George Askew for bring a car load of Essex CF. Very much appreciated.

Along with Candidate Lee Dangerfield's leaflet, we put out a leaflet with details of our next new members event in Harlow. We're having a reception at the Yates in the Town Centre on Saturday 20th February from 7pm. Hopefully we'll get some new faces along. Please drop me a line if you are from the Harlow area and you would like to come along.

We're back out in Hammersmith next week on Saturday 20th January. Please contact Matthew Richard for more details on matthew@matthewrichardson.com and watch this space for further info shortly.

The Conservative Party has many Donor Clubs, which can be seen as exclusive clubs for wealthy middle aged men. Fastrack is different, it is made up of professionals in their 20's and 30's who work in a range of professions across the country.

Fastrack holds a range of events hosted by senior members of the Shadow Cabinet in prestigious venues across London. At these events you can debate forthcoming policy and challenge our Party with your ideas. The policy renewal process is crucial to our future success and the Donor Clubs are a good way of participating in it and meeting key policy makers. It is also a good way to make likeminded people.

Membership of Fastrack is normally £21 a month or £250 a year, but Fastrack offer CF a special half price rate which means you can join and enjoy the same benefits for only £10.50 a month or £125 a year. The annual cost includes complimentary pass for both Spring Forum and the Autumn Conference. You will also receive invitations to the Carlton Political Dinner and Team 2000 Ball.

If you could like to join or would like to go along to sample an event for free please phone the Fastrack Office to speak to Lois on 020 7984 8178 with any questions or email fastrack@conservatives.com

Me Me Me Meme, tagged

I have been tagged by Caroline Hunt, along with the other Exec bloggers, with five things you probably didn't know about me. (Hope this is true for most of you reading):

1. I worked on a farm in Norway picking strawberries

2. I’ve been to a BBQ at the Blairs in Trimdon Village

3. I stand on my head for 10 minutes every day

4. My wardrobe barely contains an item of black clothing

5. I’ve taken the Trans Siberian Railway

Harlow Campaigning Day, Saturday 13th January 2007

Staple Tye is a target ward in Harlow. CF have organised an Action Day for Saturday 13th January to help the Conservative Candidate, Lee Dangerfield distribute leaflets. We narrowly missed out on a victory in Harlow in 2005 by only 97 votes. The CF effort to build a branch in Harlow and providing support at Local Elections is all part of making sure we get Robert Halfon into the House of Commons in 2009.

Our aim for the Action Day is to leaflet the entire ward. I hope you will join us to ensure we fulfil this goal. We will be leafleting and canvassing.

We are meeting at the Latton Bush Centre, Southern Way, Harlow, CM18 7BL for 09.30. The Centre is 2 miles from Harlow Station and we will be organising lifts for campaigners from the station to the Centre.

We want to aim to get as much covered in the morning, before breaking for lunch which is being provided by The Harlow Association, to get back out in the afternoon to finish deliveries.

Please email me if you would like to come along. karenallen2@yahoo.co.uk
